Biography

Zhu Limin works in the Department of Oculoplastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital as an Associate Chief Physician. He studied under Professor He Yanjin, a renowned expert in orbital diseases and ocular pathology, and has been engaged in orbital tumor, orbital fracture, and oculoplastic surgery for more than ten years. He previously studied at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. Under the guidance of Professor Fan Xianqun, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Professor Zhu Huimin, an ophthalmic plastic surgery expert, among others, he mastered double-eyelid blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, reconstructive surgery for eyelid tumor defects, and minimally invasive lacrimal surgery such as canalicular anastomosis, lacrimal intubation, and dacryocystorhinostomy. He has delivered nearly ten oral presentations at the National Ophthalmology Annual Meeting and the Annual Meeting of Oculoplastic and Orbital Diseases. He has led and participated in several university-level and municipal-level research projects. He has published several papers in SCI-indexed and national core journals. He was awarded “Outstanding Teacher” by Tianjin Medical University.

In 2006, he obtained a Master's degree in Ophthalmology from Tianjin Medical University under the supervision of Professor He Yanjin. In 2012, he completed further training in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

He is a member of the Ocular Oncology Committee of the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association; a member of the Tianjin Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology Association; a member of the Orbital Disease and Oculoplastic Surgery Group and the Pathology Group of the Ophthalmology Branch of Tianjin Medical Association; a member of the Ophthalmology Committee of the Cross-Strait Medical and Health Exchange Association; and a member of the Tianjin Physicians Branch of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. In 2016, he participated in the Chinese Medical Team to Gabon and served as leader of the Franceville sub-team. He was awarded the “Second-Class Knight Medal” issued by the President of the Gabonese Republic, the National Advanced Individual in Foreign Aid Medical Services, Outstanding Teacher of Tianjin Medical University, the “Foreign Aid Medical Contribution Award” from Tianjin Medical Doctor Association, and the Special Contribution Award of Tianjin Medical University.

He has undertaken one general project of the Science and Technology Program of Tianjin Municipal Health Commission, two general projects for the construction of clinical key disciplines (specialties) at Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital, and one project of Tianjin Medical University. He has participated in two National Natural Science Foundation of China projects. He has published more than 10 professional papers, including two SCI-indexed articles as first author. He has obtained one invention patent. As a member of the supervisory team, he has supervised three master's students to graduation and four master's students currently enrolled.
